The Colours of Spring

Spring came early this year and all seems ahed of schedule these days. Cherry blossoms and magnolias were epic and the fruit trees are in full flower now. As always, spring never ceases to surprise and excite.

To celebrate spring, our lovely STABLE store is also bursting with colour at this time of the year. Our linens come in every colour and weave, from the soft blue-and-white herringbone (gorgeous against denim and darker suit fabrics) to the deep jewel tones of our green and yellows. One of our yellow ultra-skinnies, simply knotted at the neck, will lift a crisp white cotton shirt into another dimension. The vibrant colour pops against the white without washing out skin tone and warms hair, eye and complexion. And who doesn’t appreciate a lift as we emerge out of our winter woollies?

Yellow is the official – and often crassly commercial – colour of Easter. Remember making fluffy yellow cotton-wool chicks at primary school? We have a good range of yellows in the store in Irishl inen and wool and silk.

We’ve gone to great lengths to source colours with warm undertones that work for all skin tones: check out our orange linens, teal alpaca, plum diamond fine-weave and our beautiful cashmere beanies. If you’d rather stay subtle, have a look at our Irish linen soft grey scarves or our un-dyed natural Irish linen basketweave blankets. Our handwoven tweeds are flecked so the more you look at them the more colours you find. Throw one across your bed or sofa, open the windows and invite the cheerful colours of spring into your home.
