Fresh faces are harbingers of joy. Spring came early this year and all seems ahed of schedule these days. Cherry blossoms and magnolias were epic this year and the fruit trees are in full flower now, - as always, Spring never ceases to surprise and excite.

To celebrate Spring, our lovely STABLE store is also bursting with colour at this time of the year. Our linens come in every colour and weave, from the soft blue-and-white herringbone (gorgeous against denim and darker suit fabrics) to the deep jewel tones of our green and yellows. One of our yellow Ultra-Skinnies, simply knotted at the neck, will lift a crisp white cotton shirt into another dimension. The vibrant colour pops against the white without washing out skin tone and warms hair, eye and complexion. And who doesn’t appreciate a lift as we emerge out of our winter woolies?

Yellow is the official – and often crassly commercial – colour of Easter. Remember making fluffy yellow cotton-wool chicks at primary school? We have a good range of yellows in the store in Irish Linen and wool and silk.

We’ve gone to great lengths to source colours with warm undertones that work for all skin tones, for example check out our Orange Linens, Teal Alpaca, Plum Diamond fine-weave our beautiful green Cashmere scarves.

If you’d rather stay subtle, have a look at our Irish Linen soft grey scarves or our undied natural Irish Linen Basketweave blankets. Our handwoven tweeds are flecked so the more you look at them the more colours your find. Throw one across your bed or sofa, open the windows and invite the cheerful colours of spring into your home.

Easter is such great family time and we love to gather the clan and celebrate spring and life and all the potential for the summer ahead. Easter lunch is a great affair with the table set with flowers and fresh linens and fine food to gather around and wile the day away.
Vegetables for April
Vegetables for April

Irish new potatoes, along with a bunch of other root veggies, are in season this April. So what better way to start off the Easter festivities by digging down and making the most of our staple ingredients. Is there anything better than a plate of sweet, steaming new potatoes, simply dressed with Irish creamy butter and sea salt? Something so simple, so good, needs no adornment – except perhaps a couple of our STABLE linen napkins…
