Celtic Knot Irish Linen Tablecloth. Limited Edition.

The first of a series, we are so delighted to launch our latest collaboration.

We have been interested and inspired by the vast and rich heritage in our Irish history of Celtic design. stemming from early neolithic stone carving through to the artworks of the illuminated manuscripts such as the Book of Kells housed in our nearby Trinity College Library.

It was a first and natural choice to work with Niamh Gillespie, one of Ireland’s most talented textile and pattern designers to develop our idea of using Celtic patterns for STABLE. We had several fun meetings with Niamh and have a series of products in the making for 2024.

Niamh says "Collaborating with Frances and Sonia on this project was a fantastic experience. We all have a deep passion for design, and our combined skills were the key to the success of this project. When the idea of creating a contemporary Celtic print was proposed by the girls, I was thrilled. I had long held a desire to create a modern interpretation of a Celtic print. This marked the beginning of our collaboration, and it has been an incredibly exciting journey working together.”

Our objective is to present the patterns in a new fresh way and create distinctive contemporary takes on these wonderful Irish designs of old. Niamh worked for many years with Alexander McQueen, Paul Smith and Liberty of London and honed her eye for pattern and colour to create her own distinctive brand of silk scarves, at her website tidings.ie, a selection of which are stocking in our STABLE store in Dublin. 

Here we present the first textile print and have applied it to our table linen collection as the Celtic Knot Table Cloth.

It is printed on Linen and is a loud and celebratory flash of colour for the table to gather friends and family around. We love the red and plum tones and edged with neon yellow, for the fun!
